Autism Foundation Finds Friends at Medical Marijuana Convention

Winner of the auctioned off guitar, signed by The Dirty Heads, went to a fan that has seen them many times and couldn't be happier to have his wife get his Christmas present early.

The Unconventional Foundation for Autism (UF4A) had a booth generously donated to it from Mike Lerner, founder of Kush Magazine, and KushCon2 in Denver this December.

Mieko Hester Perez founded UF4A after her son Joey, who almost died last year due to complications with side-effects from prescribed medications, made a miraculous recovery due to medical marijuana.

Harmony On Planet Earth (HOPE) directors Danielle, Jamal, who are also on the Board at UF4A, along with fellow UF4A board member Kimo, accompanied Mieko in Denver.

Henry Hemp and his wife, Dr. Robert Melamede (Cannabis Science, CBIS), Jason Lauve, and Hiedi Handford are just a few of those who stopped by to learn more about Joey’s journey and how medical marijuana saved the life of one autistic adolescent boy, who just said ‘mom’ for the first time in ten years!

The story has also grabbed the attention of The Dirty Heads, who autographed a donated guitar that was auctioned off to a select crowd before their show.
