WORLD PREMIERE: Willie Nelson & Merle Haggard “It’s All Going To Pot”
Hey, it’s 4.20 and Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard are nothing if not the godfathers of getting high, and to celebrate their decades-old friendship (and a new album they have coming out together on June 2nd), they went and recorded this song, “It’s All Going To Pot,” an ode to this new 21st century pot culture.
The record, called Django and Jimmie, is taken from the title track, an ode to Django Reinhardt and Jimmie Rodgers written by Townes Van Zandt.
“Both of those guys were very influential in both of our careers,” Nelson noted.
The album will be the dynamic duo’s follow up to Pancho and Lefty, a collaboration that became America’s number one country album back in 1983, and 1987’s Seashores of Old Mexico.
“It’s good music,” Nelson said. “I got a good feeling about it.”
Django and Jimmie will be released June 2nd, but you can pre-order it TODAY on Willie’s Official Online Store, Amazon.com and Google Play.
