In this two-hour module, you will learn what Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is. You will learn the symptoms and statistics of the condition, as well as the traditional medications used to treat PTSD and their subsequent side effects. You will be informed about the best practices for using medical marijuana for treating PTSD, as well as scientific studies that show the effectiveness of cannabis on the condition. In supplemental information, you will learn about Dr. Sue Sisley and her work studying the effects of cannabis on PTSD.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that’s triggered by a terrifying event — either experiencing it or witnessing it. Symptoms may include flashbacks, nightmares and severe anxiety, as well as uncontrollable thoughts about the event. People who have PTSD have symptoms that may include a persistent, heightened experience of alarm and distress, as well as a failure of memory extinction processes to diminish the emotional impact of traumatic memories.

Nearly everyone will experience a range of reactions after trauma, yet most people recover from initial symptoms naturally. Those who continue to experience problems may be diagnosed with PTSD.

Did you know that women are twice as likely as men to develop PTSD? Did you know there is an emerging body of evidence demonstrating the important role the CB1 receptor and endocannabinoid signaling, in the extinction of adversive memories? Did you know that the anecdotal evidence provided by veterans who have had a positive impact on the severity of their PTSD condition with the use of medical marijuana, has fueled research for cannabis and PTSD?

The first question I got was about Anandamide, but you guys spelled it Anandaine? I just guessed cause all the other answers didn’t make sense. Figured you meant Anandamide, so I went with it.

    4. Alyce W. – January 14, 2020:

Course materials and slides are starting to overlap

    5. Elizabeth L. – January 2, 2020:

Lot’s of unnecessary info. Too many statistics. Sometimes confuses what the objective is. Some test questions are not worded like the reading material gives

    6. Eric W. – November 2, 2019:
      5 out of 5

Some errors in subtitles for Dr. Sisley video.

    7. Lorraine S. – October 26, 2019:
      4 out of 5

The question in regards to women and their sensitivity to PTSD is misleading. According to the reading material it states that women are more sensitive to PTSD because they tend to be victims of crimes more sexual in nature. The test answers did not include this and instead it was based on their chemistry.

Again…some questions are tricky and Im like WHAAAAT???? I enjoy the course and the information. I love the graphs. I print them out for our bud tenders to use with customers that have questions regarding CBD, THC, ect. I also laminate them and leave them around the shop. On the walls or on a table for reference. Thank you!

      A little repetitive.

    12. Donald H – August 13, 2019:

kind of over- lapping, but over all good resources

On the exam I noticed another error. Question 3 asked about the “bliss molecule” and the 4th answer which was Anandaine, is incorrect and is Anandamide.

    14. Nikole T. – July 26, 2019:

This course also felt extremely repetitive. There were several downloadable graphics that have already been included in other courses.

      excellent class

    16. Samantha R. – June 3, 2019:

a lot of repeated information from previous course. grammatical/spelling errors. would like to see less use of the word “marijuana” replaced with cannabis.

please improve buffering of videos…may not enroll next time. this is my second time and both times videos buffered horribly. This effects your total evaluation and makes it hard to follow the coarse
