Course Overview

Delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as delta-8 THC, is a natural psychoactive cannabinoid produced in very small quantities by the cannabis plant. Because it occurs in such small concentrations, the delta-8 THC that is used in commercial products is usually created in a factory using hemp-derived CBD. Commercial delta-8 products are often sold as hemp, which can mislead some people into thinking they are non-intoxicating.

Some of these products include truly natural chemicals (cannabinoids) sourced from the cannabis plant. However, many product manufacturers have become very creative, using hemp plants and CBD derived from hemp to make entirely new compounds that aren’t found in nature.

These cannabinoids are sometimes called synthetic, semi-synthetic, novel, artificially-derived, or alt cannabinoids, and are designed to produce a high similar to delta-9 THC. The products that result, however, are often a lot more potent or intoxicating than naturally occurring delta-9 THC found in cannabis.

The DELTA 8 and Semi-synthetic Cannabinoids Certification meets the 2025 Washington State Continuing Education Requirement for Washington State Medical Cannabis Consultants.

The only reason I gave the course delivery a 3 star was cause when I was studying the PDF’s the pages kept bouncing around all over the place when I’d click the previous or next buttons. It was a bit frustrating. Other than that I’ve loved this course. And have for the past 8 years!
