Definition: Alkaloids are a class of basic, naturally occurring organic compounds in plants with a wide range of pharmacological activities. In cannabis, alkaloids, along with cannabinoids, terpenes and the countless other metabolites, flavonoids, phenols and amides, mixed together give the often-cited entourage effect.
