Anandamide (AEA)

Definition: N-arachidonoylethanolamine. Taken from the Sanskrit ananda meaning bliss, the first endocannabinoid discovered thanks to THC. A fatty acid neurotransmitter that occurs naturally in the brain and in some foods. Regulates bodily functions, such as appetite and sleep, and participates in the body’s endocannabinoid system by binding to the same cannabinoid receptors that THC acts on.
