Bioaccumulation
Definition: In cannabis, the process of the plant to absorb and accumulate toxins, such as pesticides and heavy metals, faster than it can process and excrete them. In agronomy, cannabis is used as a rotational crop because the plant requires little nutrients and is low-stress on soil. Product testing for unwanted compounds in the cannabis plant is particularly important for safety.
