Cultivar

Definition: Short for cultivated variety. The most basic classification category of cultivated plants in the ICNCP. In cannabis, a variety that has been cultivated through selective breeding for desirable characteristics. Phenotypically different plants with names based on appearance, smell and physiological effects (way the plant functions). Different from a chemovar, which is distinguished through molecular testing.
