Decarboxylation

Definition: The chemical process of converting acidic cannabinoids into a more bioavailable form that better interacts with the body’s receptors. Applying heat to raw cannabis, either smoking, vaporizing, or cooked with butter or oil, removes a carboxyl group and converts acid cannabinoids, such as CBDA and THCA, into CBD and THC.
