Endocannabinoid tone

Definition: The overall state of the body’s endocannabinoid system reflecting the levels of endocannabinoids, the rate at which they’re made and broken down, and the density of receptors in the brain. The ideal, balanced state of endocannabinoid tone, is called homeostatis. An imbalance in endocannabinoid tone creates inactivity in the ECS and in the extreme results in clinical endocannabinoid deficiency.
