Endocannabinoids

Definition: An organic compound and class of lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitter produced by the body that binds to cannabinoid receptors. An essential component of the body’s ECS. Anandamide and 2-AG are the two most prevalent endocannabinoids, playing an essential role in maintaining the body’s homeostasis by regulating the brain, endocrine and immune systems.
