Flavinoids

Definition: Plant-derived phytochemicals and the largest group of phenolic compounds found in cannabis, contributing to pigmentation, aroma and flavor. As an active compound, flavonoids help regulate cellular activity, fight off free radicals and interact synergistically with cannabinoids and terpenes. Cannabis has about 20 known flavonoids with a few unique to cannabis, such as cannaflavins that are being studied for potential antioxidant, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties.
