Definition: In botany, a cultivar of cannabis Sativa L. In popular culture, a legal definition of cannabis with a THC concentration below 1.0% in some countries, and specifically in the US, below 0.3%. Typically grown to extract CBD or for industrial use, applying stalks, seeds, oil and leaves to produce rope, textiles, clothing, shoes, food, paper, bioplastics, insulation and biofuel. Next to CBD, hempcrete is a growing global market for hemp commercially due to cost benefits.
