Hybrid
Definition: In pop culture, a false classification that Dr Ethan Russo has called unsubstantiated and nonsense. Sativa and indica get their names from the 18th century by where botanists discovered the plant. Cultivars today are distinct by phenotypes not area of origin. Understanding the composition of cannabis cultivars has advanced using chromatography to establish the chemotaxonomic classification by phytochemical: cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, phenols, aldehydes, lactones, ketones and proteins, enhancing the therapeutic properties in ways not yet fully understood. There are some 2000 cultivars; everything is a hybrid.
Also known as: sativa-indica dominant
