Lipophilic

Definition: Literally fat-loving. The ability of a chemical compound to dissolve in fat, oil and similar compounds. Phytocannabinoids are highly lipophilic molecules and accumulate in fatty tissues. For this reason, THC metabolites can be detected in the body several weeks after administration.
