Definition: The naturally occurring chemical compounds produced by the cannabis plant, including cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, phenols, aldehydes, lactones, ketones and proteins. Believed to complement the therapeutic properties of the cannabis plant in a process called the entourage effect, in ways not yet fully understood.
