- Consultants will receive a renewal reminder notice from DOH six to eight weeks before the certification expires. Please keep in mind, this reminder service is a courtesy of DOH, not required for renewal.
- If you do not receive the notice within four weeks of your expiration date, please call 360-236-4700 or email customer service department.
- If you renew by mail, it will take about two weeks to update.
- If you deliver the payment in person (Tumwater Location), it will take about three to seven business days.
- Consultant certifications expire at midnight on their expiration date, which is the holder’s birthday.
- Consultants may renew their certification up to 90 days before it expires.

CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (CE) (this is a link to the main CE website)
- The renewal notice should indicate the date the consultant will need to complete their continuing education for the following year.
- Example: The certificate may expire on 11/01/2016, but the consultant has until 11/01/2017 to complete the ten hours of continuing education (CE).
- Consultants must take 10 hours of continuing education (this link will take you to acceptable/not acceptable topics) every year. If you have questions about your continuing education, please call 360-236-4700 or email us for help.
- Please remember, continuing education hours will not be carried over from one reporting period to another. This is why it is important for consultants to pay attention to that date on their certificate.
- Also, up to 25 percent of certificate holders are randomly audited for continuing education compliance. Consultants should maintain records of continuing education completion for at least four years.
It is recommended that each person contact the department’s customer service at 360-236-4700 or by email at hsqa.csc@doh.wa.gov to see if their credential is marked for CE requirement.
If they have their contact information current with the Department of Health, they should receive a courtesy renewal notice a couple months prior expiration that indicates whether or not CE is required for renewal. You can also use the following link to search the database:

Your questions are almost always open ended and leave room for various interpretations of the course.

some of the double negative asked questions were very confusing and i found all my mistakes where me misreading the qusetion.
.
several exam questions were unclear or confusing at best –
such as the 3 genus/species question
.
Not much here. Compared to the previous trainings I have taken, this was paltry. Much of what was presented here can be found in books like Jack Herer’s “The Emperor Has No Clothes” and is widely known amongst budtenders and cannabis enthusiasts. I expect a lot higher bar and more scientific knowledge from this training.

there was a question on exam 2 that looked like it might have been worded wrong. some where around question 15.
The course was great, but four of the exam questions/answers in the final exam were subjective and misleading based on the text material.

A few type-o’s and unclear phrasing of the question. Overall, great test.
Question 8 on the Chapter 2 quiz is phrased incorrectly and has extra words.

The module 2 exam was not done very well. The questions were confusing, had gramatical errors, and at times seemd to contridict what was taught. Module 2 was a little too long of a read. I would break it up so it is easier to retain the information.

Some of the questions seamed subjective and poorly worded.
I felt like a lot of the questions I was asked in the exams were “trick” questions and I did not appreciate that. I also would say that if you’re going to include links to all these wonderful resources and articles and papers maybe some of your exam questions should relate to those as well rather then all the questions being about the powerpoint that was the chapter.

It would be nice if the second section was broken down into smaller sections. It was a lot of material to try to keep track of.

Several grammatical errors in the exam questions, sometimes changing the meaning of the question.
this course was a lot more informing then the first time I took it!!

This was very educational and helpful! Very well laid out and fun to read.
One of the questions I had missed has a massive typo and when presented with the anticipated answer, even it was uncl;ear.
In one of the sections the infographic did not correlate with the information in writing and the test question/answer. I went with the written text in the course material but it could cause confusion. Also the very last question of my test was written word for word:
“The terms marijuana and hemp, on the are the terms used for the THC level for cannabis.”
I couldn’t be sure of what was actually being asked but answered to the best of my assumptions, I chose “true” and the correct answer was apparently “false” but the explanation describes it as the correct answer being true. I did take a picture of the last question and answer for reporting purposes if you would like to see exactly what was written. This course did feel too short. I was able to complete the entire course, with interruptions within less than 3 hours. There is a lot of other information from previous courses that would’ve fit in well here.

Very informative!! I thought I knew a ton about cannabis and CBD, but this course was very in depth regarding plant classifications and correct legal terms.
