Does your state have legal cannabis?

No.  As of this writing, October 25, 2022, Kansas is one of only 13 states that lacks a comprehensive medical cannabis law and one of only 19 states that still punishes simple possession of cannabis with jail time.

In 2021, the Kansas House of Representatives passed a medical cannabis bill, which carried over to 2022’s legislative session. Gov. Laura Kelly (D) has been a vocal supporter of medical cannabis. However, the Senate failed to enact medical cannabis in both 2021 and 2022, and the legislature has adjourned for the year.

There are initiatives underway to change the law in Kansas and at Medical Marijuana 411 we believe in the right to education. So we suggest starting your cannabis education certification with our Advanced CBD Certification or even check out our courses on FDA Approved Cannabinoid Medications.

It is important to remember that MM411, Inc is not advocating to break the law but believes that laws will change in Kansas and want to give those interested in the science behind the plant, the opportunity to learn more.

What does the Advanced CBD Certification Include?

This course has been designed to walk you through the fundamentals of CBD and by using the science and research of how this natural medicine can possibly improve your health and wellness. CBD is not the same thing as cannabis, marijuana or hemp. CBD is a single compound in the cannabis plant, from the Cannabaceae family of plants. Cannabis produces many naturally occurring compounds, including CBD.

Our courses and certifications will provide you with knowledge and skillset to enter the cannabis job market competitively, right out of the gate.

The Advanced CBD Certification is an online course that covers a series of 10 modules designed to teach healthcare and industry professionals the fundamental topics of CBD derived products and includes a specific module on the legal framework of Indiana marijuana and CBD laws.

In addition to Indiana specific CBD Oil regulations,  learn about the federal legal framework, the basics of the cannabis plant, the Endocannabinoid System, and how cannabinoid receptors work with our bodies. Did you know that Healthcare Professionals are covered by Federal Law to talk to patients about Medical Marijuana even in non-legal states by an existing statute? That’s the wealth of information contained in MM411, Inc. certifications.

This certification also  includes: video testimonials from scientists and medical experts, downloadable infographics, additional visuals to support the written content followed by an exam to receive your certificate. Any individual wanting to learn more about the science of cannabis will find the course valuable.

Kansas – Marijuana Legal Overview

Kansas law explicitly exempts CBD (cannabidiol) products containing zero percent THC from the state’s criminal definition of marijuana, making them legal to possess and sell in accordance with applicable licensing laws. No possession limits are specified in the law.

However, under Senate Bill 28 (aka Claire and Lola’s law) there are some contradictory language which includes: The bill defines “debilitating medical condition” as a medically diagnosed chronic disease or medical condition causing a serious impairment of strength or ability to function, including one that produces seizures, for which the patient is under current and active treatment by a physician licensed to practice medicine and surgery in Kansas. Under the law, “cannabidiol treatment preparation” is defined to mean an oil containing cannabidiol and tetrahydrocannibinol and having a tetrahydrocannibinol concentration of no more than 5 percent relative to the cannabidiol concentration in the preparation verified through testing by a third-party, independent laboratory. No legal in-state supply source for CBD products is provided under the law. Under the law, qualifying patients with a written recommendation from a physician possess only “an affirmative defense to prosecution” with regard to the possession of qualifying CBD products.

Medical Marijuana 411 is closely monitoring and working with several organizations that are helping to refine and define Kansas medical cannabis and CBD law.
