Whoopi Goldberg Creates Medical Marijuana Line for Women

Whoopi Goldberg and Maya Synergy created a line of products designed to combat menstrual discomfort.

Whoopi Goldberg is getting into the medical marijuana business by developing a line of products designed specifically for women.

Whoopi Goldberg is better known as an actress and comedian with starring roles in films like “Ghost” and TV shows like “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” Whoopi has been open about using marijuana.

The company she’s co-founded offers: a balm, a tincture, sipping chocolate and a bath soaking salts. The products are infused with marijuana and have been developed to reduce the pain and cramps from periods.

Only in California, the products sold under the “Whoopi & Maya brand” are available to people with their medical marijuana cards, and they’ll be on shelves very soon in at least five marijuana dispensaries around the state.

50% of the population is women and for generations, women have handed down herbal healers to calm the symptoms from women’s menstrual cycles. Whoopi and Maya  believe the company’s marijuana products are no different.

Goldberg said smoking pot or drinking marijuana-infused tea has helped control her own cramps and pain, and she currently uses a “vape” pen filled with marijuana oil to combat glaucoma headaches.  Goldberg came up with the idea for the company with a friend and found Elisabeth proved to be the perfect partner.

“This is a nice quiet way that I can be part of this,” Goldberg said of the new company. “It had to help people if I were going to be involved.”

Goldberg said that at her age, 60, she’s willing to take the risk of violating federal law because she believes so strongly in the company’s mission.
