UCI Embracing Results of Medical Marijuana and Autism Case Study During Grand Rounds

The University of California at Irvine gave grand rounds with the topic being medical marijuana and autism.  Dr. Hedrick has been treating Joey with medical cannabis and saw drastic improvements immediately.

After Joey put on fifteen pounds in two weeks time, she finally decided it was time to tell a colleague. Seven patients later Dr. Hedrick is given grand rounds on medical marijuana and autsim.

The standing-room audience was filled with faculty and students alike, all wanting to hear how our endogenous cannabinoid system functions.

One of the biggest surprises was the announcement the cannabidiol (CBD) is “where it’s at,” according the Dr. Hedrick; a very encouraging sign for families of special needs children looking to give their child less-psychoactive medical marijuana.

Her research will be compiled and will go into a new book Lester Grinspoon is working on.

A very special thank you to Dr. Hedirck for inviting us, UCI for allowing us to film, and of course Mieko, who continues to inspire us all!
