Retired NFL Player, Marvin Washington, Talks Cannabis and Concussions

Players are not just lighting up in Washington and Colorado, after all. As quoted in the AP article, Marvin Washington, a retired defensive lineman who played for the Jets and the 49ers as well as the Broncos, said,

“It’s not, let’s go smoke a joint. It’s, what if you could take something that helps you heal faster from a concussion, that prevents your equilibrium from being off for two weeks and your eyesight from being off for four weeks?”

“I do not smoke marijuana myself, and the only reason I’m behind this is because the CBD does not have the psycho-active effect. So, if it can help the players, I’m all for it.”

Marvin Washington has teamed up with Kannalife and sits on their advisory board. Kannalife is  a socially responsible, phyto-medical company specializing in the research & development of pharmacological products derived from plants.

Here is a recent video where Washington talks about his hope for how the NFL needs to be involved with leading the charge in testing the effectiveness of Medical Cannabis and treating players.
